Precious Puppy

Today when I came home from the grocery store I almost ran over this little puppy. When I got out of the car she came running up to me, whinning. She was climbing all over me and was scared to death. She had blood on her foot, her ribs showed and she didn't have a collar, so I think she was dropped off. How can people put puppies out to fend for themselves - they are"BABIES"!! Nothing makes me madder than to see an animal mistreated. Anyway, I started petting her and she wagged her tail. I just didn't have the heart to run her off. Jim said that he had seen her around for the past three days. So, me being the big softie I am, I brought her in the house to see if she would eat or drink anything. OMG - she ate almost an entire bowl of food and drank a bowl of water. She wouldn't stop whinning and climbing on me. I called Jim and told him I couldn't turn her out and that we have to find a home for her. Two dogs having the run of our home is enough. I gave her a bath, took her out to potty and gave her a couple of treats. I think she thought "ok, I can live here"! She climbed in Piqo's bed and fell right to sleep.
I was afraid she was cold, so I covered her up. I was beginning to really like her, so I thought I better find a home for this puppy quick. I called Malisha and she called her good friend Jessica. Jessica had been wanting a dog, so she came right over. Needless to say, this is one lucky puppy - she has a wonderful new home and a mommy that loves her.

Work, Work, Work

We bought the lot that adjoins our property and have been clearing it off since. We have found all sorts of odd junk in the tall brush - barrels, bathtubs, axels, lawn chairs, carpet etc. We are finally down to the last of the hard work. Saturday after I came home from working out, Jim had the chainsaw going. These pictures don't do the hard work that has gone on here justice. Jim sprayed this area with brush killer all summer. The dogs can't stand it if we are outside and they aren't. Malisha had just gotten out of bed and the pups begged her to take them out. She was like "mom, don't take my picture, I just got up"! Do you think I listened? ;) I think she always looks pretty!
Look at "some" of the junk piled up at the road. We have a truck load to take to the dump.
Here Jim found a roll of wire and some type of curly piece of metal. I may have to find a way to incorporate the curly metal into my garden.
Piqo wanted to help!
Yes, helped too. This is the area I cleaned up! I was so proud of my hard work! :)
Saturday it was so warm we had to take our jackets off when we were working and Sunday we woke up to snow on the ground!

Fun Times, Valentines and Great Friends!

Josh, Sean and Stephanie playing pool.
The weather was so beautiful and warm the pups had a great time playing outside catching tennis balls. Look how cute Piqo is with the ball in his mouth. Mattie can catch a ball as good as any professional baseball player. Then she drops it for Piqo to get. They are just too cute together!
Jim was even happy washing our vehicles the weather was so nice.
I bought a new bar table and chairs for our rec room. I wanted somewhere comfy to play cards and board games. Sean is helping Jim put the legs on the chairs.
Al and Sue came up for the weekend. He had just given Malisha some beautiful diamond stud earrings and three gold dipped roses. He spoils us way too much!
Sue, Malisha and Al
I got up early and fixed everyone a huge Valentine breakfast - biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, pancakes, juice, coffee and milk. We swore we would not eat for another week! BUT....Jim fixed a wonderful Valentine's dinner. We had crab cakes, filet migon, broccoli salad, potato casserol, dinner rolls, apple pie and vanilla bean ice cream. He also surprised me with flowers I placed on the table with candles. I was so excited about the beautiful dinner, I forgot to take a picture.
After dinner we watched a movie and Piqo and Al became good buddies
During church our preacher recognized Sean for his service in Iraq. I have to admit - mom was proud! ;) After church Al and Sue wanted pictures of everyone.

Look at that cute and sweet Sue. She is such a doll!
Sean and Malisha were getting ready to go hang out at the mall together. Before they left they had to aggrivate each other a little.
But... they really do love each other and get along so well.
There is that Piqo hanging out with Al again. I told him, my puppy better not be in that Lexus when it pulled out of the driveway heading back to Georgia! I would miss my grandpuppy!

Sean Returns From Iraq

Sean returned from Iraq this weekend. Jim and I drove down to take him his car, TV and a few other items he wanted us to keep for him. He will get to come home for eleven days this coming weekend. It is wonderful to have him back and he looked great! Here is a clip from the Sumpter Newspaper.
Of course we always have to go out to eat. Sean likes the ribs at Logan's, so we ate there - that tall skinney boy, oops I mean young man sure can eat!
Everyone was so tired, we went back to our room and relaxed, watched TV and looked at all the photos he took while gone. I will post more pictures when he comes home next week.

Tennessee vs Florida - Go Vols!

Our good friends Ross and Marie whom we go to church with asked us if we wanted to go to the UT vs. Florida basketball game this Saturday. The game was a special event called Outlive which raised money for cancer in recognition of former Vol Chris Lofton, who survived his battle with cancer. The game was so much fun airing live on ESPN and Vol spirit all around!
