Harley

Jim bought a beautiful red Harley Street Glide last summer. We had a lot of fun riding with friends but with the knee replacement he had a few years ago he wasn't as comfortable riding with me on the back. He was always afraid his knee wouldn't work quickly enough and we would lay the bike down. We started looking at the new Harley Trikes and really liked them. Well with a little encouragement from me we bought a new 2017 Harley.
It came with several "large" manuals. This thing has more bells and whistles than either of our cars do.
This is the picture on Black Wolf's Facebook Page. He sure looks happy!

Monday, February 20th the weather was beautiful so I took a day of vacation and we hit the road with Kim and Celeste. We rode up to South Holston Dam which is very pretty!

This little cutie (Sydnee) was checking out our bikes and asked if he could sit on them. He was so cute and friendly - not a shy bone in this little guy!

Happy Valentine's Day

We don't normally make a big deal out of Valentine's Day. We usually just go to dinner and sometimes if there is something we know the other one is wanting we will buy a small gift.  Now that Elizabeth is three she understands gifts - so Mamaw and Papaw got the most enjoyment out of surprising her.  Jim presented her with her first rose! It was the sweetest moment! She doesn't know how to sniff when we tell her to smell of something so she blew on it.  :-) When he handed her the rose she said "I love it" and then she said "this is the best Valentine's Day present ever"! She was so stinking cute!

Mamaw got her a set of 8 puzzles. She loves putting puzzles together and is really good at it - especially for a three year old!
Mamaw also got her and her baby doll matching outfits.
After dinner and a few chocolate kisses she and Papaw sat down to watch a few cartoons.
And of course Piqo got a little jealous of all the attention Papaw was getting.  BTW...he got a new toy for Valentine's Day too! Can't leave our other baby out of the love!
Hope everyone had as sweet of a Valentine's Day as we did!

Exercise - why now, why ever?

I have to admit I despise exercising, but at my age it is a necessity.  I try to exercise at work since they have a nice little gym downstairs with quite a bit of equipment.  However, I don't always have time to get a workout in and after missing a few days I can feel it.  I told Jim I would like to have a recumbent bike at home and some stretch bands so I can workout during the evenings.  Of course he always does the research to find the best deal. We found a Schwinn bike on sale at Dicks right after Christmas, so we snatched it up.  We already purchased the bands and a mat so a bike was all I needed for my routine.  I ride the bike for 30 minutes then I include squats, leg stretches/lifts, planks, sit-ups, push-ups and I use the bands for my arms. I try to exercise 4-6 times a week, taking a break on Sunday. I sure miss those days of not needing to exercise to feel good and stay slim.  Back at the gym I'll be tomorrow.  💪
We purchased this type of exercise bands because the bands can easily be switched out depending on the amount of tension you want.

Our First Snow of 2017

I don't particularly like winter, but I must admit this was a beautiful snow!

What to do when its cold?
Make sure the birds are fed...

make sure your puppy is warm...

and get your husband to vacuum since he is stuck in the house! :)
Even though we were "stuck" in the house, Jim and I had a sweet weekend of cooking, cleaning, playing Domino's, watching TV and just enjoying spending time together. We are so blessed and happy!

Christmas 2016 - New Traditions

A couple days before Christmas Elizabeth spent the night with us. Of course I already had all her gifts wrapped and under the tree but I had to let her open one so we would have something new to play with.  Jim and I had picked up this fun set of Lincoln Logs at Lowe's and since she loves putting things together it was the perfect gift for a cold night of staying in. She was so excited to get to open a present! I love her sweet face in these photos!

They were proud of the first house they built. Elizabeth's favorite thing to do was putting on the roof and of course knocking it down afterwards! :)
This year Malisha wanted us to have Christmas at her house - starting with watching Elizabeth wake up. Sean, Vanessa, Jim and I were up, dressed and on our way to start a new Christmas tradition to what felt like "no one else was even awake yet"! 😉 To help enjoy the morning without having to worry about doing a lot of cooking I fixed a breakfast casserole the night before which just had to be baked the next morning.  We also fixed eggs, bacon, oj, coffee and pancakes to go with it. We had a great time watching Elizabeth's excitement as she opened her many, many gifts! This is our vehicle loaded down with gifts (note our back seats are folder down).
Malisha made matching shirts for all the girls! "LOVE"
Last year we bought Elizabeth this cool little kitchenette, so this year we had to stock it with a Keurig coffee maker, Kitchen Aide mixer and a toaster. She loved them because they made sounds, lite up and looked just like mommies!
Elizabeth opening her gifts from Santa. You can hardly see the tree for all the presents.
Sean and Vanessa posing with Elizabeth. Yes, Sean is actually wearing an "ugly" Christmas sweater.
After a fun morning at Malisha's we went home and I made homemade treats for all my grandpuppies - Piqo, Daisey, Dollie and Tava.
The Monday following Christmas we fixed a big Christmas meal and had more family and friends over.
Sean's friend Aaron (whom I always called my second son) ate with us. It was so good to see him!
While I was on Christmas break Elizabeth came and spent a couple of nights with us. She helped me make cupcakes.  She loved using the mixer and did a great job with it.  She also ate as many sprinkles as she put on the cupcakes.
I got tickled watching her aggravate Papaw. He was trying to watch a football game.
She loves getting in the whirlpool tub. She stayed in it for 1.5 hours - her fingers and toes looked like prunes.
More Christmas Break:
I bought Jim an Ruger LCP2 pistol for Christmas. We called Jim Milhorn and asked if he wanted to go shooting with us since he also got a new gun for Christmas.
I also got a little more practice in with the pistol Jim got me last year for Christmas.  It's always fun spending time with my sweetie!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
