Baby Shower for Chelsea Hall

Leslie and I gave a baby shower for Chelsea at my house. We had a great turnout and Chelsea received tons of beautiful and sweet gifts! Everyone had a awesome time, enjoying great food and wonderful company.

 We sat up a memorabilia table of items from when Chelsea was a baby and we created a Power Point slideshow of photos of her when she was little.

 We served sweet tea, lemon water and Sangria's.

Congratulations Colby and Chelsea! We can't wait to meet Baby Grey!

Fun Times with Sweet Elizabeth

Jim and I took Elizabeth to Bays Mountain to see the wolf pups. When we were looking at the deer she was saying "doggie".  :-)

Shop Owner

Marianne and I have been friends for several years. I always loved the little women's boutique she owned in beautiful downtown Jonesborough. I had talked to her a couple years ago about taking on a business partner but she wasn't ready to at the time. In early March we talked again and she said she was ready! I am thrilled to announce that I am now a business partner with Marianne at Kaley's and Company.

New Mantel and Fresh Paint = H-A-P-P-Y Me!

I have not like the mantel in our new house ever since we bought our home. I think it is a beautiful piece if you like antiques, but they are just not my style.  Jim, my brother and I drew up plans for a new mantel and a way to put our TV above it that would give us more room and options for a larger TV if we ever wanted one. My brother built this mantel from scratch including cutting out the dental molding and sawing the grooves in the side pieces. I love how it turned out and it makes our living room look so much more updated plus it even looks larger! We also painted the walls a clean, fresh color that I love!

Always Busy at the Fulwiler's

When we bought our house the walls and steps to the basement had never been finished. A few months ago we painted the walls but never did anything with the steps. I know, I know everyone says "they are steps that go to your basement, why does it matter"?  Well I'm sorry, but they just looked nasty and I couldn't stand it.  We had several buckets of leftover paint so I mixed a couple colors together and came up with a color close to a wood tone. We had leftover stain to update the handrails which looked so much better once we finished them. I bought an inexpensive stencil, candle holder and hung a wreath -wah lah, a cute, clean staircase.  I have thought about putting a glaze on the stairs to bring out the wood grain a little more, but that will have to wait. We are now in the process of changing out our fireplace mantle.

I liked this stencil because I believe you should never give up on your dreams!

I also bought a large box of apples from a lady at work who was selling them for her childs school. I have been wanting to try my cooking skills at homemade apple butter. I found a recipe on cooks.com that seemed easy enough. OMGoodness it turned out amazing and other than peeling a ton of apples it is really easy to make. We will definitely be making this again next year or when we run out of our favorite treat on toast or biscuits.

As you can see we've already been enjoying the sweet, cinnamonie treat!
