Cozumel, Mexico January 2011

Jim and I went to beautiful Cozumel Mexico in early January to escape the cold and boy did we pick the right week to do that.
We drove down the night before our ship set sail. Jim got us a really nice room at ---suprise a Holiday Inn Express. This was a brand new hotel and I was truly suprised at how nice it was.

Here is our big beautiful ship "The Elation"Looking down at the Piano Bar and the glass elevator First day on the ship - we had just left Mobile and it was still cool. This is the library/game room. I thought the decor was pretty. As we were leaving Mobile.Sweet couple that sat at the same dinner table with us. They were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Our first animal towel. The Lido Pool Deck You cannot go on a cruise and not eat too much. Thought we should work off some of that "Warm Chocolate Melting Cake" :)One of the many photos they stop you to take.Beautiful sunset! I still can't get over how beautiful the water is! At the Port in Cozumel. "My what big feet you have"! LOL - hey we were on vacation! Again...vacation! Acting silly is acceptable! :) They still had their tree up when we got off the boat. Some of the pretty landscaping at the port.Looking through the palm trees at our ship in Cozumel. Our dune buggy ride we took on our way to snorkeling - so much fun!
While waiting to go on our excursion we were sitting outside. This little bar had swings instead of seats - too fun! More Christmas decorations - just seemed out of place. Christmas was over and it was in the 80's! Dune buggy rideThe beautiful water Very pretty scenery

When we were in the dune buggy they stopped us to take our picture and this critter walked up and just looked at me. I didn't think about racoons being in Cozumel and he definitely wasn't afraid of people. I tried shooing him away - he looked a little scarey and way too skinney.
Just before getting into the water. OMG snorkeling was so much fun. Swimming with the fish and seeing all the beautiful colors was amazing!
After snorkeling they served us lunch and then we just hung out enjoying the beautiful white sand and views.

Yes I was so happy and having so much fun!
The hut where we ate lunch after snorkeling.

Look how beautiful and blue the sky was.

The shrubbery reminded me of some I saw in Texas - looked like green velvety sage.
Punta Sur means South Point
There were Volkswagons everywhere.

The sweet couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Another fun couple at our table. This was their 19th cruise - 14 have been with Carnival!
Another sweet couple we shared a table with. She was a runner and about the size of a tooth pick. She had some trouble with sea sickness and was wearing a patch. We think the patch may have been too strong for her - she really was tiny.

Inside our ship - it was so pretty!

I dragged Jim to a towel folding class. We were on our way back and it was a little windy out so we took advantage of the shows and games.
Oh he made a puppy!
...and my puppy! LOL :)
Making the trunk of an elephant.

Marie doesn't like to have her picture taken - oops!
...but she likes taking them.
Our vacation was absolutely wonderful. The ship was beautiful, Cozumel was amazing, we ate way too much and didn't want to come home! The next few pictures are more reason not to come home. OMG we ran into an ice storm in Birmingham - it was awful!

LOL back at home and I was busy unpacking my suitcase. I walked into the kitchen and Jim had this sitting on the counter. He cracks me up!

Cozumel - we loved it and will definitely go back!
