Cardboard Testimonies

My sweet friend Marsha sent me this link. I was warned to "beware if wearing mascara." She was right - I cried - but they were sweet tears of thankfulness for what the Lord has done for me and my family. Click on the link to watch this beautiful video.

The Latest on Sean

Sean called today and shared some good news - his squadron is getting to come home early. He said he should be here by the end of this month or the first week in February! Thank you Lord for taking care of my boy! He has enjoyed the experience, but said he was ready to be back.

Some pictures I stole from Sean. The first few are when he was still in Tech school.

In Iraq in front of a MRAP
This one is out of order. This is in his dorm before he went to Iraq.
Getting ready to drive the MRAP.
On top of a helicopter
He said the door on this thing weighed over 2000 pounds.
Another photo of him on the helicopter.
Taking it easy at home before he deployed.

Chattanooga & Chickamauga

Jim and I visited Al and Sue in Chickamauga before school starts back next week. We had such a fun time we didn't want to come home. Friday we sat around talking and catching up looking at old photos. Saturday morning Sue fixed a huge breakfast - I could get use to! Next we road the fourwheeler and golf cart around Al's property.
Jim said he was never buying me a four wheeler because I went too fast and scared him.
This is what he wants as his next toy! Al sat back and watched us play. He has more toys than time.
Ok, so the fourwheeler was fun, but I was ready to drive some real wheels. Al and I took a spin around town in his Prowler. Not many of these cars were made and they really turn heads. It was an amazing ride - yes I like fast cars. He kept telling me "get on it, you're not going fast enough".
The top went down and off we went.
Fun, Fun, Fun!
After we got back we played cards and pool, ate shrimp, cheese, crackers and grapes enjoying the rest of the day. Dinner reservations were made at the awesome High Point Restaurant in Monteagle. They have the BEST food I have ever eaten. The 1929 mansion, presumably financed by Al Capone, is a three-story compound with escape hatches on the roof and underground tunnels in the basement used by Capone for the transferring of liquor in the twenties and early thirties. It is rumored the floors were complete with a lining of sand beneath each one, suspected to prevent the penetration of a bullet. Local legend reveals tales of Capone and John Dillenger lounging outside on the mountain stone patio having drinks and playing numerous hands of cards.
The photo on the dressing table here in the ladies room is supposedly one of Capone's mistress's.
We sat at the back left table next to a warm fire in the fireplace.
Thank you Al & Sue, we had a fantastic time and can't wait to visit again!

Happy New Year!!!

We celebrated New Years with all our good friends - what a great way to ring in 2009! Everyone got a room at Double Tree which included a dance, New Years toast and breakfast. The rooms were so nice and set up with champagne, party hats, beads and noise makers, not to mention the awesome chocolate chip cookies. We brought appetizers and had lots of fun and laughs before the party even began.

Look at that crazy Breezie in her cupcake PJ's! Sandy helping Allyson strike a Beyonce pose :)
Jim and his little cupcake! I'm not sure what Toni was telling here.

After all the fun we had upstairs we went downstairs to the dance.

The next morning - of course we were all tired from all the dancing and ringing in the New Year. Here we are getting ready to eat breakfast.

I had a wonderful time. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of friends. I wish everyone a Happy and Blessed New Year. Love you guys!
